Conrad Colman, a young American native of New Zealand and living in Brittany, is the first skipper to have completed a round-the-world sailing race with a 100% alternative energy boat. Conrad did not use one liter of fuel to power the generator on board. The bet of this training engineer on the seas since his childhood is successful. For 110 days the skipper only used an hydrogenator and solar panels to power the electronics and electrical equipment embarked. Let us hope that these technologies now proven can create emulators in racing and mainly pleasure boating which generates its lot of pollution on certain nautical sites more and more frequented during high season.
