A comfortable environment-friendly structure

We quickly realise that there is a true commitment to the environment when seeing the hotel’s immense windmill. Built at a distance to avoid causing any sight or sound nuisance, it provides for not less than 70% of the hotel’s energy needs. Photovoltaic and thermal solar panels are used as a complement.

Guests will enjoy the organic paints, and fabrics used in the room decoration. Ecological body hygiene products made in Dominica are available in the bathroom. The furniture is made of excellent quality local wood.

You will be pleased to note that the restaurant serves a large proportion of local produce. The fruits and vegetables are organic and the fish is caught in the wild. To date, no chemicals are used in farming in Dominica except for semi-industrial banana plantations which are subjected to controlled pesticide spraying. Meat is produced locally, especially pork and chicken.

The resort provides employment for 70 people from neighbouring villages, for whom this development represents an economic chance. It also provides the opportunity to many of them to make visitors participate in their different activities and make them discover the way of life in Dominica as well as its nature, culture and history.

Janet Neel is in charge of the hotel and makes it a point to manage it in a friendly atmosphere.

Good general situation ★

This luxurious environmentally friendly is at the foot of the nature reserve Morne Trois Pitons World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The hotel was located on the Atlantic coast, coast exposed to the prevailing winds of the trade winds. This situation provides undeniable comfort in the tropics, especially if you plan to practice hiking. However, the sea breeze on the whole rocky coast and beaches by generating current and undertow. There is a real risk to go swimming or water sports. Fortunately, the nearby river or a pool of generous dimensions allow safe swimming.

Mountain side against what a true paradise is. The foothills start property line stopping at 1,000 meters above the Morne Trois Pitons World Heritage listed by UNESCO. A multitude of hiking trails with the possibility exists along or cross many rivers and streams.

Beverly Deikel, a native of Minnesota opened Rosalie Bay Resort in 2010 by love for Dominica. The black sand beach of Rosalie is one of the many nesting sites on the island for three species of turtles-leatherback, green and hawksbill. A hatchery and relocation program is led by the hotel to help fight against poaching and disappearance of species.

With his partner, Oscar, a native of Dominica, Beverly designed the hotel in an ecological way with wind turbines, solar panels, spring water filtered-UV, everything from food to furniture is grown on site and staff was born or grew up in Dominica. Vegetables and herbs are grown on the organic farm near the house on the hillside.

The tropical furniture is made locally, the hotel’s extensive landscaped garden is planted with beautiful trees that have been preserved during the implantation of buildings. Rosalie River that runs along the property before flowing at sea brings charm and freshness while helping to shape the enchanting ambience of the site.

The restaurant of the complex, the Zamaan serves a healthy continental breakfast and regional dishes prepared with organic produce grown in the garden.

Rosalie Bay Resort offers 28 rooms and suites are generously sized with balconies and ocean views. Particular attention was paid to achieve the bathrooms.

A superb room very well-equipped sports and superbly located in the gardens will allow you to follow a fitness program.

You can choose from six garden view rooms, 10 suites overlooking the garden and sea, river view 2 suites, 3 suites and 1 deluxe suite ocean view.

Rosalie Bay Resort offers a wellness program personalized with yoga sessions, Pilates and massages. There is a koi pond devoted to meditation and can participate in other activities such as cooking classes. The resort organizes turtle-watching tours between March and October.
